Blogs and Wikis

Blogs for libraries is another form of publication as in web-based. This could be a complete collection development processes and the librarian will need to excercise a great deal of expertise and fastidiousness when adding a blog to a collection. As to collection development of the libraries collection.With this use of blog also could be one way of promotion or marketing the collection to the users or to the public as with blogs the users could give comments on the materials that they librarian provided. Wikis are essentially open web-pages where anyone registered with the wiki can publish to it, amend it, and change it. Example such Wikipedia (an online encyclopedia where any registered user can write, amend or otherwise edit articles) Wikis is open web-pages where can enable social interaction among librarians and users. As users share information, ask question, answer question and librarians do the same within the wiki, a record of these are turn into resources for the library as reference. Wiki and Blogs evolve into a more multi-media environment, where both synchronous and asynchronous audio and video collaborations will take place. Blogs are new form of publications and wikis are new forms of group study rooms. With blogs and wiki makes collections and services more interactive and user-centered, enable information consumers to contact information producers and blurs the line between librarian and users, creator and consumer, authority and novice. In this way also could provides the learning skill or critical thinking among librarians and users as for the librarian to be more creative in putting information and while users will communicate with more development comments or analytical comments that could boost the information industries with quality and valuable information for public access.
